Rockingham General Hospital has well developed maternity services. There were 1118 deliveries in the 2007. It has four birth suites and 14 maternity beds.
Rockingham General Hospital provides care for low and medium risk deliveries. Midwifery and medical staff work collaboratively and the specialist workforce includes obstetricians, GP obstetricians, paediatricians and anaesthetists.
Private and public care options are available to patients. The maternity unit is currently being refurbished to enhance service delivery, expanding in mid 2009 to 25 maternity beds and five birth suites.
