KEMH continuing professional development

Nurses sat around a meeting tableThe Department of Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research at KEMH (DNAMER) provides midwives and nurses with a selection of courses, study days and professional development programmes. Most of these programs are available to all WA midwives and nurses. Some programs are for internal staff only. Fees apply for external applicants.

How to apply


Additional Information Required

Please note that for some courses reading material and activities may require access to a learning portal. Registration will require a valid email address. Please include your email address in your MyHR nomination (in the “please specify box”) or on the application form.

Application process
  1. Complete all the required details on the external application form
  2. Click submit to create a new email message OR click save, attach to an email and send to
  3. If a place is available on the course your credit card will be debited the required amount
  4. You will then receive email confirmation of the outcome of your application and a receipt for payment if applicable

Cancellation policy
  • Cancellation of enrolment will result in a fee being levied
  • 20% will be retained if cancellation within 1 week (7days) of activity
  • 50% will be retained if cancellation one day prior to activity

No refund will be given for non-attendance if NO notification of cancellation is given

KEMH staff only

Staff attending training courses at KEMH will no longer be able to gain access to staff car parks for the duration of their training day/days.

Staff attending training courses will need to make their own arrangements which may include:

  • Parking off site at Graylands Hospital and using the free shuttle bus service to and from KEMH. 
  • Using Public Transport to and from KEMH, including the park and ride at Matthews Netball Centre
  • Exploring alternative parking options in the surrounds of KEMH. If you choose this option please ensure that you follow the directions of parking signs, particularly the time limits set for street parking.

Adjustments to staff car parking access will be made based on formal training participation lists. If last minute changes mean you will be working instead of attending training, you or your supervisor will need to let MAPD know as soon as you become aware by emailing

External applicants

Parking is hard to find, there is a time restricted parking around KEMH. All day parking is available over the railway line or all day meter parking at Subiaco Theatre, off Hamersley Road.
