Hospital Based Registered Nurse/Midwife Neonatal Level 2 Certificate Course

Nurse / midwife with a new born babyThis three month course provides participants with the knowledge and competencies to practice in a Neonatal Level 2 unit.

The program includes:

  • 100 hours of theory including pre-study package and online materials
  • Introductory and final four day study block
  • 140 hours of clinical placement

Clinical placements include:

  • Supernumerary KEMH SCN 2 and PMH 6B  and
  • Own maternity hospital Neonatal  Level 2 unit

Note: Only one applicant nominated from a maternity hospital, with an accredited Level 2 SCN, can be considered for each course intake

Submit completed, signed (by employer) and scanned application form electronically to Hilary Cross Coordinator of NeoWA. Hilary.cross@health.wa.gov.au

Travel and accommodation assistance

Registered nurses/midwives in the WA public health system and undertaking study more than 100 km from home, may be eligible to receive financial assistance for travel and accommodation.

Further information about travel and accommodation assistance is available from their Regional Nursing Director.
