It is a series of information and support to help overweight women have a successful, healthy pregnancy. Women carrying excess weight into pregnancy should aim to put on around 5kg or less during their pregnancy. This will safely allow your baby to grow normally, but restrict the extras stores that you put on.
BLOOM information can be accessed at any stage in pregnancy, but the earlier the better! Pack 1 can be looked at early in pregnancy, and then Pack 2 and 3 could give you some extra information through your 2nd and 3rd trimesters, and Pack 4 has some useful tips for preparing you for delivery and the postnatal period.
BLOOM Dietitians are available by phone at King Edward Memorial Hospital if you have any questions.
