The Hospital Liaison GP provides a key consultant and liaison role to King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women (KEMH). The overriding goal is to facilitate communication between GPs and the Hospital to enhance continuity of care for patients. An additional goal is to improve patient access to hospital services and promote efficient use of services.
The Hospital Liaison GP usually works at a system level and is part-time only.
From 1/7/15, the position will be overseen by Executive members from KEMH and representatives from the WA Primary Health Alliance.

Queries from GPs regarding a patient or clinical service should in the first instance be directed to the relevant specialty Registrar. The registrar can be contacted through the hospital switchboard on (08) 6458 2222. The Liaison GP does not get involved in queries from GPs regarding individual patient care.
The Liaison GP does not take queries from patients or relatives. These should be directed to the relevant Department or the KEMH Customer Service Unit.
