The King Edward Memorial Hospital Emergency Centre provides care for women experiencing pregnancy and gynaecological emergencies, if your baby is unwell please take to Princess Margaret Hospital.

The Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; you do not need a referral to attend.

When you arrive to the Emergency Centre you will see the Triage nurse who will ask you some questions and assess your condition. If possible, please bring with you your Pregnancy Health Record and any notes, test results or scans relating to your pregnancy or health condition. 

Following assessment by the Triage nurse patients are seen by the doctor based on their clinical condition, not on order of arrival to the Emergency Centre.

Emergency Care for Babies and Children: Princess Margaret Hospital Emergency Department, Roberts Road, Subiaco, 6008. 

General Emergencies: The closest general Emergency Department to KEMH is at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Hospital Avenue, Nedlands (ground floor, G Block).

Sexual Assault Emergencies: Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC) (08) 6458 1828 (24 hour service) or Freecall 1800 199 888.
