Facilities at King Edward Memorial Hospital

King Edward Memorial Hospital is located in Subiaco, just a short walk away from the main shopping area on the iconic Rokeby Road.

Other nearby attractions include Subiaco Arts Centre and gardens which is home to a nature based children’s playground, Subiaco Library (corner of Bagot and Rokeby Roads) and Subiaco Primary School which hosts a bustling Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings.

Below is a list of facilities located at KEMH for your convenience.

Café and Gift Shop

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 6.30pm (closed public holidays)
          Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4.30pm

  • ATM outside café
  • Vending machines outside café  (several located throughout the Hospital including the Labour and Birth Suite foyer)

Crèche (brochure)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm (closed public holidays) 

KEMH Crèche is a free child-minding service for parents or guardians attending KEMH outpatient appointments or visiting their baby in the Special Care Nursery/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The crèche is staffed by Senior Qualified Child Care workers.

Level 2, A Block (lift foyer)

KEMH’s art gallery hosts a variety of special exhibitions throughout the year. There is also a number of works throughout the Hospital.


The Women and Newborn Health Library is a consumer Library located on the ground floor of KEMH.  Patients of the hospital as well as family, hospital staff and the general public within WA are eligible to borrow from us. We have a large collection of pamphlets, including a comprehensive Aboriginal health collection, books and DVDs on all aspects of women's and newborn health.  Information is also available in over 40 languages.

Moort Mandja Mia – Family Gathering Place

Outdoor space for families located on the Hensman Road side of KEMH.

Op Shop

The KEMH Op Shop is located outside Centenary House on the Lower Ground floor (below the Café), for information about volunteering or donating please visit the Women and Infants Research Foundation website.

WA Medical Museum

Hours: Wednesdays 10am to 4pm (closed public holidays)
            Sundays 2pm to 4pm

Although not a part of KEMH the WA Medical Museum is located on the grounds of KEMH in historic Harvey House, corner of Railway and Bagot Roads.
