Using your private health insurance at KEMH

Private health insurance at KEMH
February 1, 2019

Patients who have private health insurance and who attend our regular KEMH clinics in obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology (parents of) or mental health, can opt to use their private health insurance upon admission for their hospital stay with us and by doing so, are directly helping KEMH.

Our patients with appropriate hospital cover (including maternity for obstetrics) will have no out-of-pocket expenses for their hospital stay and procedures during their stay.

Our private patients will have access to ‘team’ care in which they will receive continuity of care from the same group of multidisciplinary health professionals which includes doctors, nurses, midwives, social workers, physiotherapists, psychologists and dietitians, all under the leadership of a consultant.

Although all patients at KEMH receive the same quality of treatment and range of services, whether private or public, the benefits of using private health insurance upon admission are worthwhile.

Benefits include a single room, free access to the TV entertainment system, treatment by a team of health professionals lead by a consultant, meal vouchers and the knowledge they are helping KEMH.
