Agnes Walsh House accommodation

Patients who normally would have been accommodated at Agnes Walsh House are being relocated off-site to keep them safe from COVID-19 whilst we are in phase red of the Department of Health System Alert and Response. If you will require accommodation or are coming to Perth from regional areas to receive medical treatment, please speak to your health care team or our Social Work Department at your first available opportunity so they can help find you accommodation.

KEMH offers short-term accommodation for women from regional or remote areas who need to be in Perth for care at the hospital. Agnes Walsh House Lodge is next door to the main hospital and provides single rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Speak to your midwife or doctor if you need support with accommodation at KEMH.
Arriving at Agnes Walsh House Lodge
Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) will be the main contact during your stay. They are available 6:30am to 3pm Sunday to Friday and 9am to 1pm Saturday.
Arrive at the admissions arrival area in the Emergency Centre at KEMH. A PCA will help orientate you with your room and available facilities. If arriving after 2:30pm, an orderly will orientate you. You may be required to attend the Maternal Fetal Assessment Unit (MFAU) prior to admission.
Each room has bath towels, blankets, pillows, sheets and linen in the bathroom. There are free laundry facilities in the basement.
Meals are provided at no cost. Breakfast is self-serve in the kitchen. Tea, coffee and Milo are available at any time in the kitchen. Lunch is served in the staff dining room (B Block, Lower Ground Floor) and dinner is delivered to Agnes Walsh.
For information on what to pack for your stay and what to bring if you’re having a baby. Don’t keep valuables or money in your room. The hospital cannot take responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
Visitors
Visiting hours: 8am to 6pm.
Visitors are welcome at Agnes Walsh Lodge however children and males are not permitted to stay overnight. Contact the Social Work Department during office hours on (08) 6458 2777 if you need help finding somewhere else for family or friends to stay.
For safety reasons the Agnes Walsh House doors are locked daily at 6pm and unlocked at 6am. If the doors are locked, entry is through the basement level.
At night an orderly / security is available to walk with you between Agnes Walsh House and the hospital. Ask admission or the area you are visiting to page the orderly / security if you require an escort.
