Cuddle Cot donated in memory of baby Tidus
Osborne Park Hospital has received the donation of a Cuddle Cot from a family who experienced the tragedy of a baby born still and wanted to support others going through the same experience.
Cuddle Cots provide invaluable support to families during a time of grief and loss and allow parents and their loved ones to spend precious time before saying their final goodbyes to their littlest loved ones.
A Cuddle Cot is a bassinet cooling system that enables families to keep their baby close, create beautiful memories and spend time with their babies before they say goodbye.
After the passing of their precious baby Tidus in October 2022, Alisha and Brent were determined to provide other parents with the same opportunity to get to know their little ones before they say goodbye. The family raised more than $6,500 in loving memory of Tidus to provide comfort, connection and support to families experiencing loss.
Women and Newborn Health Service are honoured and grateful to be the recipient of Tidus’ Cuddle Cot.
The new Cuddle Cot at Osborne Park Hospital will allow parents to stay with their babies for longer, giving them a valuable chance to cuddle, to bond, to grieve and to create memories in an environment where they can feel supported.
Alisha said the Cuddle Cot allowed them to begin to process what had happened and cuddle him as much as possible. It gave them time to introduce Tidus to their loved ones and say goodbye when they were ready.
“We hope Tidus’ Cuddle Cot will help other families during the most difficult time of their lives,” she said.
