Excellence Symposium
On 26 February, the 2025 Excellence Symposium for the East Metropolitan Health Service provides an opportunity to celebrate health services and initiatives that strive to deliver on our vision – Healthy people, amazing care; Koorda moort, moorditj kwabadak – and reflect our value of excellence.
Guest Speaker
An inspirational keynote speaker will share what excellence has meant to her in her personal and professional journey.
Kendall Whyte is the 2022 Young Australian of the Year for WA, and founder of Blue Tree Project, a grass-roots charity, making an impact across Australia.
The mission of Blue Tree Project is to help spark difficult conversations and break down the stigma of mental health, by giving dead trees ‘a blue lease on life’.
Hear the story of how the painted blue trees that are dotted across the globe have become symbols of hope and conversations starters.
Kendall Whyte’s work is helping spread the message that “it’s ok to not be ok”. By speaking openly and authentically, she’s helping break down the fear of judgement that stops people seeking help for mental illness.
Highlighted projects
Each year, EMHS staff are invited to submit Expressions of Interest to highlight their projects. Videos are produced to showcase a small number of these projects for presentation and discussion at the Symposium.
The Symposium on Wednesday 26 February 2025 will highlight some of the fantastic initiatives underway across the health services at Royal Perth Bentley and Armadale Kalamunda.
The staff-only event provides an opportunity to turn our gaze within our organisation – to see and hear about the wonderful work underway across our health service by our staff delivering amazing care or demonstrating excellence in their fields.
